BIO
With an extensive background in clinical psychology, Harrison is deeply committed to enhancing the lives of those he serves. He holds dual doctoral degrees in Clinical Psychology and Philosophy in Social Work, along with master’s degrees in Social Work and Counselling, and a Bachelor’s degree in Theology. His expertise spans mental health, addiction treatment, relationships and marriage, family dynamics, and parenting.
Recognized for his work in cognitive and integrative therapies, Harrison is a sought-after speaker, trainer, and consultant. He has presented at conferences, seminars, and public events in over 50 countries, and has appeared on radio and television. An accomplished author of more than 53 books, he is widely respected for combining clinical insight with practical application, delivered with clarity, depth, and engaging humor.
His approach is both innovative and grounded in evidence-based practice. Over the years, this has earned him recognition from law enforcement agencies, municipal leaders, healthcare professionals, and corporate organizations. Harrison regularly provides training and consultation to diverse partners, including medical professionals, social workers, first responders, and executive leadership teams.
With over two decades of experience in mental health and psychiatry—including 17 years in crisis and psychiatric settings—Harrison has worked with a wide range of populations. His experience includes supporting individuals affected by trauma, addiction, anxiety, depression, psychosis, acquired brain injuries, and displacement due to war, across hospitals, community agencies, and law enforcement collaborations.
Harrison is trained in a broad range of evidence-based therapies, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Interpersonal Therapy (IPT). He also incorporates Motivational Interviewing, grounding strategies, and integrative approaches such as humanistic and psychodynamic therapies.
Beyond his clinical work, Harrison has contributed to cognitive and mental health research, including studies in Substance Abuse and addiction, Music Therapy and schizophrenia, and Development and Vaccination. His work in Thought Developmental Practice (TDP) has provided alternative frameworks for addressing complex mental health challenges.
Harrison is also a devoted family man—married for over three decades, a father of seven, and a grandfather. Alongside his professional work, he has spent over 40 years teaching and sharing faith-based principles, integrating both biblical and clinical perspectives into his approach to healing and personal growth.

Research Study Experience
September 2019 - 2021 - Substance Abuse and Addictions in the Foodservice Industry
October 2014 – 2017 - Research on Thought Developmental practice- A twelve-week program geared towards Addictions, Anxiety and Depression.
April-August 2016 - Research at William Osler Health Systems- Thought Developmental practice- an eight-week program with struggling with Addictions, Anxiety and Depression.
October 2010 - October - 2011 Men needs and Women needs.
October 2008 - April 2010 - Music Therapy and Schizophrenia. Worked with several multidisciplinary to gather information. These 18 months of research were a success. Targeted countries were Australia, Germany, UK, and Canada.
September 2009 - June 2010 - Domestic Violence (within the black culture comparing with non-white culture) Psychopathy and Criminal Psychopaths. Interviews were completed with participants, and data information was collected.
1999-2000 - Vaccination to Children Under Two Years. The research was a success in discovering the possibility of medication allergies and the negative effects on children.
